Lessons & Clinics
Build skills, strengthen partnerships, and take the next step in your horsemanship journey.
Weekly Riding Lessons
At Foundations, we’re proud to partner with the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association (LTRA) to make horsemanship lessons accessible to riders of all abilities. Taught by Jay Skoog, Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) instructor, these programs combine the best of equine-facilitated wellness with structured, skill-building horsemanship education.
Whether you’re just beginning your riding journey or looking to refine your skills, lessons follow a clear CHA format to ensure progression, safety, and confidence at every level. Many of our students start as beginners, but the program is designed to support riders as they grow — offering pathways from foundational horsemanship through more advanced skills.
Through this partnership, lessons remain inclusive, affordable, and community-focused, while still providing the professionalism, structure, and individual attention every rider deserves.

Upcoming Clinics

Connection & Liberty Clinic
Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association Arena
January 31 – February 1
This two-day Connection & Liberty Clinic focuses on developing clear communication, trust, and willing partnership with the horse—both on the ground and at liberty.
Designed for trail riders and horse people who value calm, thoughtful horsemanship, this clinic explores how horses learn, respond to pressure, and stay emotionally regulated in new or challenging environments. The emphasis is on creating a horse that is not just compliant, but confident, connected, and mentally present.
Participants will work through:
-
Foundational connection exercises that translate to safer, more relaxed riding
-
Liberty-based communication to improve feel, timing, and awareness
-
Understanding the horse’s emotional state and how to influence it
-
Practical tools that carry directly into trail riding and real-world situations
Auditors are welcome at no cost.
Auditing is informal—no registration required. Simply come observe, take notes, and learn.
